Join a 2‑hour dog sled adventure through Arctic wilderness from Snow Resort Kirkenes. Enjoy scenic routes over fjord ice and forest terrain, with a chance to try driving the sled yourself, and learn about huskies and their care.
Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Kirkenes (Thon or Scandic) and transfer to the Snow Resort Kirkenes camp, located just outside town. After suiting up in warm overalls, mittens, balaclava, and boots, meet the friendly huskies and hear from your musher about how the team works and their care routines.
The sled route is approximately 10 km, taking you across frozen fjords and through lightly forested Arctic landscapes. You’ll have a rest stop along the way, where you can warm up, listen to stories from your guide, and let the dogs recover. There may also be opportunity (weather permitting) to take the reins yourself and steer the sled for a stretch.
Return to the Snow Resort Kirkenes camp, with transfer back to your hotel to conclude the excursion.
Children must be at least 7 years old. The physical difficulty is moderate — participants should be able to walk in snow if needed.
In case of unsuitable weather or ice conditions, the tour may be changed or canceled.
Sleds are shared by 2 guests while the dog musher drives.
